Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: 17 October 2026
Planning Letter Ireland is an AI-assisted tool that helps people draft a planning objection or a third-party appeal about a real planning application in Ireland. This policy says what the tool must not be used for, and how we enforce it. It forms part of our Terms of Service.
1. What you must not use the service for
- False or misleading objections. Inventing facts, or making claims about an applicant, a neighbour, an official or a development that you know are untrue.
- Abusive documents. Threats, harassment, intimidation, discrimination or defamatory or abusive language aimed at an applicant, neighbour, council officer or anyone else, in what you type or in the document.
- Bad-faith objections. Objecting only to delay a competitor, to cause harm, or to obtain payment in return for withdrawing.
- Impersonation and bulk use. Writing in someone else's name without their consent, or using the service to mass-produce objections in other people's names or by automated means.
- Unrelated use. Anything that is not a genuine objection or appeal about a real planning application, including personal data about third parties that you have no right to use.
- Abusing the service. Probing the site for weaknesses or trying to get round the checks described below.
2. Sexually explicit and NSFW content
Sexually explicit content and other not-safe-for-work (NSFW) content is not allowed anywhere: not in any field you fill in (name, address, reference number, development description, additional details) and not in a generated document.
3. How this is enforced
- Before anything is generated or paid for, the text you type is checked automatically for explicit sexual content and for threats or abusive language. If a check fails, we refuse to create the document and explain why. You are not charged.
- After generation, the document text is checked again before it is shown to you or delivered. If it fails, no document is delivered and any payment is refunded in full.
- The AI provider's safety systems also apply to everything the model is asked to write.
- People review complaints. If you think something has slipped through, or you want to report misuse, email hello@planningletter.ie. We read every message and reply promptly.
- We do not keep your documents. A generated letter is shown to you and emailed once, and then it is gone from our systems, so there is nothing for anyone else to see or reuse.
4. What we may do
If we reasonably believe this policy is being broken, we may refuse to generate a document, cancel a purchase and refund it, or block access to the service. Using the service in breach of this policy is at your own risk and responsibility.
5. Not legal advice
Planning Letter Ireland is a drafting tool and not a law firm or planning consultant. For a complex or high-stakes matter, take advice from a qualified planning consultant or solicitor. See our Terms of Service.
